Dutch sailor Remko De Weerd (Gaastra, AHD) and local girl, Daida Moreno (Mistral, North) have taken first round victories in their respective men’s and women’s freestyle eliminations here today at the PWA, Gran Canaria Gran Slam.

The titans of the windsurfing world have all congregated here on the windswept shores of Gran Canaria, ready to compete in what promises to be one of the biggest and most radical events on this year's PWA world tour.

The final of the 2002 Red Bull King of the Lake was unbelievable and it might have been the best performance of Freestyle Windsurfing ever.

The PWA world tour will soon be returning to wind swept beaches Gran Canaria for one of the biggest events of the season. Commencing on the 9th of July all the big guns from both the men’s and women’s fleets will be gathering at the legendary venue

The wind refused to play ball here on the final day of the Costa Brava 2002 PWA qualifier but did fill in enough to allow an unofficial freestyle expression session this afternoon.

We are still on hold here at the 2002 Catalunya PWA Freestyle Qualifier. A promising thermal breeze filled in this afternoon but unfortunately never reached the strength required to allow any official competition.
