Buzianis Slalom Camps
After 2007’s Successful Slalom Race Camp in Egypt Buzianis is Back for Round Two in ’08…
Last year, Micah Buzianis' (JP / NeilPryde) first camp in Egypt was a big hit, so a bunch of participants called for a follow up event.
In 2007 it was mainly targeted at racers only, but it became clear that many types of windsurfer could benefit from tuition to improve their sailing skill from one of the world’s greatest racers.
Micah, who was joint PWA Slalom World Champion in 2005 and Vice World Champion in 2006 and his coaching team is not just aiming the activity at semi professionals, but also at people who windsurf for fun, enjoy speed, want to get faster, and want to improve their jibing and maybe get a bit involved in racing.
In groups of maximum 10 people you will find out about how to
Trim your equipment
Get faster (check with GPS) improve your jibing in general and get it to perfection
Gybe around a buoy in the middle of a racing fleet
Le Mans style beach starts
Execute boat starts
Get your body ready for slalom and speed (Gym, nutrition etc.)
To achieve this you and your coaches will use the latest equipment such as
Video analysis equipment
At the end of the camp there will be a Slalom competition. The winner will get a one week holiday including flight, hotel and a brand new JP Slalom board.
If you are concerned that this sounds all too serious - don’t worry, there will be plenty of fun - you don’t need to be a top-level windsurfer to enter this camp. If your main goal is to become a confident gyber and get that bit faster so that you can upset your friends a bit by overtaking them – you will enjoy this as well as everybody who wants to start racing and get ready for it or those who already race and want to get better. There will be various training groups with various levels and goals for the week.
The package price includes:
- one week camp with Micah, Dirk, Rob and Harry’s team
- A Micah Buzianis Windsurfing Camp Lycra
- Participation in the final race
- Prize giving party
You can bring your own equipment or rent the latest JP and NP stuff from Harry Nass.
