After ten days of grueling competition in Gran Canaria, the PWA world tour then moves over to the neighboring Island of Fuerteventura for more action. The event venue, Sotevento actually boasts the record as the longest standing event on the PWA world tour, this years competition being a 65,000 Euro Freestyle Grand Prix for both men’s and women’s fleets. The beaches at Sotevento on the south west coast of Fuerteventura are famous for their beautiful sand dunes, turquoise water color and of course relentless strong cross offshore winds.

Brazilian Samba Sensation, Kauli Seadi (Naish Boards, Naish sails) took victory in Fuerteventura last year after winning a thrilling final against French hotshot Julian Taboulet (JP, Neil Pryde). Seadi will be determined to defend his title but faces a tough fleet filled both with experience and new up and coming talent. The likes of Nik Baker (Mistral, North), Josh Stone (JP, Neil Pryde), Vidar Jensen (Drops North) and last year overall Champion Antoine Albeau (AHD, Neil Pryde) will all be on hand to challenge for the honors.

Winner of the women’s competition last year, Colette Guadagnino (JP, Neil Pryde) will also be back to fend off challengers. Colette who hails from Venezuela had to overcome a tough challenge from Daida Moreno in the final round of competition to ensure her victory.
