Still no competition. Unluckily, the wind doesn't seem to cooperate in this edition of the Red Bull King of the Lake.

In the early afternoon, the Ora looked like it would allow us to start a contest and there were some very promising gusts, but it never came to much of anything. The first heats were sent out to warm up, but before they could even get started the wind had died on them again.

In the meantime, the rider kept themselves busy with other things - so for a change in program Ricardo Campello (JP/Neil Pryde) decided to get his toe broken playing around on the ramp. Result: he has to give up on the King! Which now means that Andrea Pagan has to sail against Konan Lang (Naish Sails). Will that make is easier for him? We will see….

It's a real shame that Ricardo is out as he was one of the favorites for the title. He will even not be able to participate in the next PWA World Tour competition in Fuerteventura and is therefore most likely out of the race for the World Title. Only 16 years old, Campello was already 9th in PWA freestyle ranking in 2001. But we are confident we will see him perform all the newest tricks very soon.

Even though there was no wind, there was no time to get bored at the Red Bull Surf Village today, with all the music, sun and a skateboard half pipe show featuring Anders Tellen, Bob Joosten, Sascha Müller and Volker Petersen.

Some riders may even have been happy that there was no wind today (although they would never admit it) as they were still trying to get over the after-effects of yesterday's boat party, where the entire fleet rocked to the tunes of our Lounge DJs, featuring the guys from Switchstance Recordings. Tonight Wind's Party at Circolo Surf Torbole may no go as long, since the Skipper's meeting was set for 6.30 AM!!! But let's see whether the "Delegates of Culture", flown in from London especially for this event can keep them at the party longer… but it won't be an easy task for them, as we are talking about 48 windsurfers who can't wait to get the fight for the crown started.
