Girl Power

The women's windsurfing fraternity turns out in force to celebrate 'Butterfly Effect' number seven.

Top windsurfing accessory brand, Dakine, have recently got together with a group of female windsurfers from all over the planet, to celebrate a women’s’ only watersports revolution, code named: Butterfly Effect.

The Butterfly Effect, now in its seventh episode, aims to unite female windsurfers, and ocean sports lovers from all four corners of the globe, and indulge in a rare girls only get together, in the otherwise male dominated water sports arena.

This particular rendition saw thirty participants from countries as far and wide as Germany, Israel, Switzerland, Norway and Hawaii, come together on Northern Brazil’s sun drenched shores. The group took part in an epic 50km downwind blast, amongst a plethora of additional activities. Most importantly, the trip showed that female windsurfing is going from strength to strength, and as we see our sport progressing, it’s thanks to pioneering groups like this.
