Magic Feelings

Female slalom racer, Sarah Hebert, helps to get more women on the water.

Being ranked 3rd in the world, didn't stop Sarah Hebert (Naish sails, Naish boards) from going back to basics with a bunch of enthusiastic women in New Caledonia. In fact, Hebert organised a full schedule of events for her first edition of 'Magic Feelings' and 15 lucky female windsurfers joined her.

Hebert invited all of the female windsurfers of Noumea to take part in the day in order to share some of her knowledge and share their passion of windsurfing. Despite the weather not being at its best, the girls got stuck in and had a great time.

After an early morning warm up, the girls embarked on a bit of SUPing before starting the main windsurfing session. Hebert held clinics on both gybing and waterstarting, which were said to be a huge success with smile all round.

Hebert commented:

"I spent the day sharing the one thing in life that I love doing the most, and helping the girls to progress was just an added bonus! I'll be running a similar thing on the blue lagoon next year, and hopefully the weather will be better and we'll see more women taking part."

It's great to see our top performers giving something back. Lets hope Sarah has found the time to get some practice in for herself too!
