Point-7s Slalom Dream

The Point-7 team and Windsurf Club 77 have created the ultimate slalom-training playground.

Training for the slalom series can be particularly challenging, as it is often difficult know how fast you are going, and practice those key skills like hitting the start line at full speed and really holding your own at the gybe mark.

However Point-7 team in Tenerife have found a solution to their slalom sailing difficulties, by setting up a permanent four mark downwind course in El Medano. The course has been tested and approved by Pascall Toselli (RRD / Point-7) and Andrea Cucchi (Patrik / Point-7) and is now available for anyone to come and battle it out on the racecourse between 1pm-5pm

Toselli states: ‘Training in Tenerife is perfect as you get to sail with all the different sail sizes in a variety of conditions. We have wind everyday and now with the course set, training has become so much more intense. I am so motivated to go on the water now! We have had the marks out for three days and I think we have already sailed 50 slalom heats.

Cucchi states: ’It took a few days of work to get all the marks set up, but for the last three days we have been really pushing it on the course. It is a luxury to have this setup available everyday. I have been here for two months now and I have sailed everyday. I am feeling fit but even after four heats on the course you realise that it is completely different. Racing is so much harder. I think we all need to say a big ’thank you’ to Luca Orsi from Windsurf Club 77 Tenerife who made it possible.
