Rutkowski makes a change

Former youth world champion Maciek Rutkowski joins Loft Sails and Patrik boards for 2012.

Polish slalom sailor Maciek Rutkowski (Patrik / Loft) is working extremely hard to the moment to make sure he is up to speed for the 2012 season. He has been training in Tarifa and Cape Town for the past few months and alongside that he has managed to secure deals with Loft Sails, Patrik Boards, Unifiber,  and GoPro.

Rutkowski: “I spent two great years with Gaastra and Tabou and I’ll always have good memories with the brand and especially the team that helped me so much, and I actually still train with them sometimes and definitely wish them all the best. However Loft and Patrik is a new chapter, with many possibilities.

First of all being on the international team means being closer to the designers, and learning a lot in terms of gear development from them and from the rest of the team. And the performance has proved itself to be amazing! Hopefully these changes will help me to climb the PWA ranks as well as get to the next level in formula and waves.

Joining the Unifiber team will do that for sure. At the end of the day those little details, accessories and spares are the ones that make you confident in your gear and might just give you the edge. Let’s not forget my second passion – filming. GoPro is then a great sponsor for me, and Hero2 is just sick!”

Francesco Demper, Unifiber, marketing manager: “Unifiber welcomes young Polish rider Maciek Rutkowski! We are very excited to support him and his goals for the coming season. Because Maciek is a Formula, Slalom and wave sailor we are sure he will test our equipment in every condition.”

Ludovic Jossin, Loft Sails, team manager: "we’re very proud to announce that Maciek Rutkowski will join our international team for 2012.He’s got a great future in front of him and he’s already taken some big names down on tour. Recently he was here in Tarifa. The guy only wants to train and eat! Nothing else matters to him. He eats as much as the whole rest of the team. He’s definitely the man to watch next year!”.

To complement the news that he has changing gear he has also released a short movie filmed in CAPE TOWN. You can also keep up to date with Rutkowski on FACEBOOK.
