ISLAS CANARIAS AWARDS

What’s next for the Islas Canarias PWA Awards?

Firstly we would like to thank all the participants who took part in the inaugural Islas Canarias PWA Awards. Your entries have been fantastic and the winners shall be announced soon.

Also a massive thanks needs to be said to the Islas Canarias themselves, as not only have they provided the sponsorship, but many of the entries themselves are from windsurfing action captured on the Canaries, which once again reiterates the world class conditions that the Canaries provide to all realms of windsurfing. Whether you are a freerider, freestyler or wave rider the Canaries has something to offer almost everyone, especially when you factor in the fantastic weather year round. This makes the Canaries not only a perfect getaway for windsurfers, but also for families and friends alike.

Over the duration of the Islas Canarias PWA Awards we have received a spectacular array of entries for the maiden year of the awards. Through both videos and photos, the action that has been entered once again showcases the wonderful sport that is windsurfing, and you have all helped to the start the beginnings of an amazing archive which non-windsurfers and windsurfers alike, will be able to enjoy for years to come.

The next stage, and perhaps the most critical and exciting stage, will take place in March, when we will reveal the winners of each of the respective categories. The winners will hold the prestigious title of being the first people ever to win a Islas Canarias PWA Award, so there is plenty at stake.

As we speak the PWA judge panel, consisting of; Robby Swift (JP / NeilPryde / Mystic / Maui Ultra Fins), John Skye (RRD / Mystic / MFC), Iballa Ruano Moreno (Starboard / Severne) and Jimmy Diaz (Starboard / North), are currently deliberating the winners.

Make sure you stay tuned in March for when the winners are revealed, but also make sure you start collecting all of your photos and videos so that you are able to participate in the next edition of the Islas Canarias PWA Awards.

If you haven’t seen the entrants already then be sure to check out the male and female entries here and here.

Lastly, we would like to once again thank all of you who participated and the Islas Canarias, as without you the awards would not be possible. Good luck to all of you.
