CHILEAN DELIGHTS

Arthur Arutkin discovers the delights that the beautiful country of Chile has to offer

Arthur Arutkin (Fanatic / North) made his debut on the PWA World Tour last season at the age of just sixteen years old. The French youngster competed in both Gran Canaria and Tenerife, with his best result seeing him finish in twenty-fifth place. Now as Arutkin looks to further enhance his level he decided to head to the world class location of Chile for his winter training.

During the month of February Arutkin was lucky enough to spend three weeks in Chile, sailing at various spots such as Matanzas, Topocalma and Pupuya, as well as having the opportunity to sail with other world class sailors; Victor Fernandez (Fanatic / North) and Klaas Voget (Fanatic / Simmer / MFC). In the company of two of the best wave sailors in the world the sixteen year old was able to progress a lot as Arutkin links some delicious waves combined with aerials. AA also looks adept in the air with big stalled forwards and table tops forwards as well as several perfect backloops.

Unfortunately upon return to his homeland, France, Arutkin suffered a knee injury which required surgery, so we would like to take the opportunity to wish him a fast and successful recovery and we hope he his back on the water ripping soon.
