KING KÖSTER

The double wave world champion shows exactly why he is the best in the world

Philip Köster (Starboard / NeilPryde / Maui Ultra Fins) already has two world titles to his name at the tender age of nineteen years old, having dominated the wave scene for the past two seasons. Now there’s an epic new montage of just some of Köster’s monster moves, which can be seen here.

As we’ve come to expect - and love to watch - the wonderkid goes absolutely massive as he stomps his way through trademark planing double forwards, outstanding pushloop forwards and some monstrous backies, before tearing the waves apart as he throws amazing goiters and reverses as well as some good old fashioned hacks, which send the spray flying. There’s also a few wipeouts, just to prove that he is human after all.

Köster currently sits at the top of the rankings as he goes in search of a memorable third consecutive world title, thanks to his victory in Tenerife in August. See whether he can cement his place at the top when the wave tour returns to action from the 16th September at the Cold Hawaii World Cup, which saw Thomas Traversa (Tabou / Gaastra) clinch his first victory last year.
