MAUI MAGIC

Musso and Traversa representin' Team Tabou and Gaastra

Alex Mussolini (Tabou / Gaastra) and Thomas Traversa (Tabou /Gaastra) both enjoyed their finest seasons to date on the PWA World Tour. Mussolini narrowly missed out on a maiden world title - to Marcilio Browne (Goya Windsurfing /MFC) - eventually finishing the year as the vice world champion, having finished third last year. Meanwhile his teammate and good friend, Thomas Traversa, continued to progress up the rankings by finishing in fourth place overall.

Now Sophia Regerbis from double4productions has just released a video of the two wave sailing maestros in action during the final event of 2013 - the JP Aloha Classic.

Having not competed in Maui for seven years, it's fair to say that both sailors took a while to get back into the groove and rhythm of Ho'okipa, with both sailors taking shock early exits in the single elimination. However, in the double Mussolini and Traversa found their rhythm as they combined their signature fluid wave riding with the latest new school tricks such as radical frontside wave 360s and air takas off the lip. Mussolini eventually finished the event in seventh place, whilst Traversa finished in joint fifteenth.
