EL YAQUE HEATING UP

El Yaque’s finest in full flow ahead of the PWA Margarita World Cup

With the first event of the 2014 PWA World Tour just two months away, El Yaque’s finest freestyler’s are already in full flow, making sure that they are 100% ready for the PWA Margarita grand slam, which will be taking between the 22nd to the 29th March.

The first half of the week will be dedicated to adrenaline fuelled slalom, before the freestylers take centre stage. El Yaque is one of the spiritual homes of freestyle with the likes of five-time PWA Freestyle World Champion Jose ‘Gollito’ Estredo (Fanatic / North / MFC) calling this freestyle paradise home. Last year also saw the iconic figure of Cheo Diaz return to the competition scene and he’ll be extremely determined to show everyone exactly what he can do. After parting ways with his sponsors of thirteen years - Ricardo Campello (Patrik / Point-7 / MFC) - also looks set to compete at his home spot and he looks as deadly as ever. Campello is regarded of one of the most naturally talented windsurfers ever, and he played a monumental part in pushing freestyle to where it is to day, with many of the moves we still see today invited by the man himself. The Brazilian will be a major threat when the green flag goes up, what with three PWA Freestyle world crowns to his name, so the fireworks should be set to fly. For the women Yoli de Brendt (Fanatic / North) - who has been a prominent figure on the PWA Freestyle World Tour consistently challenging for top honors - will be hoping that she can bring home the title to her homeland.

Tom Brendt has just released a new video featuring all of the aforementioned stars and from the looks of things they all seem to be in irresistible form. Double forwards, backloops, trademark paskos and much more can all be seen during this fast paced new edit.
