WA 2016/17

As has become routine for Dieter Van der Eyken (Starboard / Severne) - the Belgian returned to Western Australia for the first part of his winter training. Van der Eyken has been going there a few years now and he thinks the 2016/17 winter are the best conditions he’s scored so far, which makes for a stunning new edit.

Van der Eyken used to be synonymous with freestyle, but since making his debut in the waves in 2015 the Belgian has really started to stamp his mark on the wave tour as well with the 24-year-old already claiming some big scalps, while also breaking into the overall top 16.

With another winter of training under his belt he’s likely to be an even bigger threat this season.

Dieter Van der Eyken on his latest mission to Australia: “This last trip to W.A. was probably the best one I ever had with wind and waves almost every single day! Thanks to everyone for filming and all the good times, looking forward to going back at the end of this year!”
