Gran Canaria Wind & Waves Festival
Daida Moreno (Starboard / Severne / Maui Ultra Fins) has been the dominant force at the top of women’s windsurfing for the last two decades and between her and her sister Iballa (Starboard / Severne / Maui Ultra Fins) they legendary twins have amassed an incredible 26 world titles between them.
Pozo Izquierdo is home for Daida and more often than not she takes full advantage on her home waters to dispatch of the rest of the competition. In fact the only recent, slight blemish on an otherwise perfect record came in 2012 when Daida was making her return from fighting off skin cancer - and even then she still placed 2nd behind Iballa.
Since then the 39-year-old has won every year since and it looks like she’s going to be incredibly to tough to beat this time around - especially after watching her latest video as she gets tuned up for the Gran Canaria Wind & Waves Festival with trademark one-hand backloops, stalled forwards, tweaked pushloops and aerials plus much more.
