Finian Maynard breaks the World Speed Sailing Record!

Finian Maynard beat the outright speed sailing record held by Yellow Pages …twice. ….once on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004…once on Sunday. On his best run, Finian averaged 46.82 kts over 500 meters to put the world sailing speed record back in the hands of windsurfers after 12 years of failed attempts.

Finian was riding an F2 board and a Naish Sail designed and built by Dan Kaseler. These records will become official once they are ratified by the World Speed Sailing Council (WSSC).

Congratulations Finian! From everyone at the PWA.
