The 2005 Leucate Mondial du Vent PWA Super X World Cup – Day 2

A crisp morning breeze picked up swirls of white sand on the beach at La Franqui, here at Leucate this morning, promising another day of intense Super X action. By ten thirty, event leader, Matt Pritchard (Tabou, Gaastra) was out on the water testing lighter wind gear and cutting perfect white tracks through the turquoise Mediterranean waters.

Unfortunately, the promised wind began to diminish and by twelve o’clock the sailors went into a holding pattern. Despite some solid gusts, that provided excellent fun for the hundreds of public sailors in town to try all the latest gear, the wind never really returned. At five o’clock competition was officially called off for the day.

Going into day three, Pritchard leads ahead of Cyril Moussilmani (Fanatic) and Robby Swift (JP, Neil Pryde), with Vidar Jensen (North) and little brother Kevin Pritchard (Starboard, Maui Sails).

The true beauty of Super X is that anyone can win and anything can happen so the action will keep coming thick and fast as soon as the wind returns. Be sure to keep your browser set to www.pwaworldtour.com as we bring you all the latest news from 10 am tomorrow.
