Marcilio Browne Feeling Excited And Ready To Return To Competition Sphere

Marcilio Browne (Goya Windsurfing) has completed the prestigious overall podium for the last two years running and is looking to add to his sole wave world title from 2013. After a slightly below par 2015, which still saw Browne finish 7th overall, the Brazilian looks to be back competing at his best and will be a major threat at both the Gran Canaria Wind & Waves Festival and for the rest of the season. We recently had a quick catch up with Browne:

Marcilio Browne: “I’m feeling really excited, I haven’t competed since Sylt which is a very long time. Cant wait to start doing some heats.

You’ve finished the last two seasons in 3rd place and seem to be getting closer to your 2nd world wave title - are you feeling confident?

I feel great this year, my gear is better than ever and feels like i trained a lot so far , happy to be here sailing everyday and enjoying myself, lets see !

Also you were in NYC recently? Was that for some physio…? Is that just minor stuff or are you carrying an injury?

“I just  had a good week training than seemed like the forecast got really bad for 2 weeks so I went to NY to rest with my wife and let this little injury I had inside my rib heal a bit more. it was not bad, like it wouldn’t stop me from sailing, but it was great to give it some time off - feels a lot better now.”

Thanks Braw, see you in GC.
