Fuerteventura PWA Grand Slam
After yesterday’s action packed day, which saw the Men’s and Women’s Freestyle Single Eliminations completed in great conditions, the wind machine took a break on Day 3 of the 2018 Fuerteventura PWA Grand Slam - sponsored by René Egli - which means Sarah-Quita Offringa (Starboard / NeilPryde / Maui Ultra Fins) and Jose ‘Gollito’ Estredo (Fanatic / Duotone) remain at the top of the current event rankings with a couple of days to go.
Champions On Top
Sarah-Quita Offringa (Starboard / NeilPryde / Maui Ultra Fins): “Yesterday we sailed the single elimination in really tough conditions. I was on 4.2m but completely maxed, but I managed to keep the nerves down and stay focused and I was very happy about the moves I landed in the final.”
Jose ‘Gollito’ Estredo (Fanatic / Duotone): “I’m really happy to have won the single elimination. The conditions here in Fuerteventura are amazing and the level on the tour now is so high that you can’t make any mistakes. If you do then it’s game over. Congrats to the other guys.”
The forecast for tomorrow doesn’t look too promising on paper with slightly less wind predicted for tomorrow than today. However, as always you never know what is going to happen. The skippers’ meeting has been called for 11:30am (GMT+1) tomorrow morning with a first possible start of 12pm.
