PWA Tour Returns to Portugal in style.

For the first time since 1996 the Estoril, Guincho PWA World Cup will take place in June this year. The biggest names in men’s wave sailing will descend on Portugal’s western tip to do battle in what is expected to be the most hotly contested Wave contest for years.

Following on from his recent success at the 2005 Jeep PWA Hawaii Pro, former World Champion, Josh Angulo will be looking to begin his assault on this years World Title in earnest at the €55,000 World Cup. Josh told us “everyone is really stoked to be coming to Guincho, it’s a sick location with great conditions and incredible hospitality.

The event will be organized locally by Club Overpower who have a strong history in windsurfing events spanning over 10 years. Isabel Guimares from Overpower says “we are very happy to have the best sailors back in Guincho again, We hope that this is just the first of many events to be done by PWA and Overpower Club”.

Entries are nearly closed and the who’s who of wave sailing will congregate in Guincho on the 15th June. With World Cup ranking points up for grabs there will be no holds barred when it comes to competition.
