A full fleet of 48 competitors awoke to promising conditions here in Podersdorf this morning, ready to do battle after registration was completed. A first possible start for 12.00pm was scheduled by Head Judge Duncan Coombes, only to be delayed by the increasingly inconsistent wind along the Neusiedler See’s shores.

An afternoon of teasing conditions had many of the world’s best completing the odd trick, but with conditions unsuitable for holding entire heats in planning conditions the crowds had to be patient and wait for another day before the battle commences.

All was called to a halt at 17.00 with a skippers meeting set for 9.00 am tomorrow. Tonight sees a high profile opening ceremony at the huge party village here on Podersdorf’s Nordstrand event village. ‘Power Hours’ are on each night with promotions galore making the after dark action a real crowd-puller.

Be sure to check in here tomorrow to follow all that’s happening in the Freestyle melting pot that PWA competition provides. www.pwaworldtour.com and www.surfworldcup.at
