The 2006 Surf World Cup Neusiedler See – Day Five

The Fog cleared, but it was barely a breath of wind that helped drift the curtain of mist across the lake to allow bright sunshine to pour onto Podersdorfs Nordstrand beach.

Earlier the Vienna airport report suggested that 20 knots would arrive here, but this forecast stood alone with its unlikely prediction. Perhaps unsurprisingly it failed to deliver, and the riders here enjoyed crazy golf, jetskiing and go-carting as a competitive substitute for on-water battle. Windsurfing is an easy going sport with characters to match, but once the gun for the start of a heat is fired, there is more at stake and titles to be won or lost.

Day two saw the completion of the first round of the single elimination, and even this early stage saw impressive standards not seen before at this stage in previous seasons. It was clear that this year will see the most advanced trickery windsurfing has ever seen. See who advanced and who’s up against who should conditions change and allow the next round to start here in the SINGLE ELIMINATION LADDER.
