SOMWR 10x Cabo Verde PWA World Cup

Day 4: With Another Lay Day on the Cards Attention Turns Towards a Beach Cleanup & the Weekend

For the second consecutive day of the 2022 SOMWR 10x Cabo Verde PWA World Cup a lay day was called with conditions not being suitable to continue the contest.

With more downtime on the line the local and event crew, plus majority of the sailors attention was turned towards the SOMWR x PWA x Project Biodiversity Beach cleanup, which was held at Serra Negra Beach, as a focused effort was made to immediately improve the environment of the island, whilst spreading more awareness about the importance of recycling and sustainability.

Looking Ahead

As far as the Double Elimination goes it looks as though we will be aiming towards the weekend to resume the event. Current forecasts for the 26th/27th  of February indicate a long period swell and strong trade winds, which could, if we are lucky enough, let us see Ponta Preta at its absolute best.

The sailors will meet again tomorrow morning for a 10am skippers meeting.
