Hot or Not? Episode 2

Continuing our series of where the pro’s become the judges, we get to the bottom of the world finest sailors opinions on some crucial issues you might hear discussed at the beach.

1. Backhand riding. Underscored or over rated?

Xavier Huart (F-33) – ‘Overrated? How? It can be sick…and very few people can destroy the wave…I like it!’

Nik Baker (K-66, Mistral/ North Sails) – ‘Totally underscored’

Finian Maynard (KV-11 F2 / NeilPryde) – ‘It’s over rated in onshore conditions, but underscored when sideshore, especially if its done in the section’

2. One handed one-footed jumps? ‘Too old skool or way cool?’

Xavier Huart – ‘One footed jumps are for ladies! So ugly!!’

Karin Jaggi (Z-14, F2/ North Sails) – ‘Way cool – but only when it’s really really high!’

Antxon Otaegui (E-169, JP/ Neil Pryde) – ‘Way cool and super difficult’

Nik Baker – They’re pretty cool for the old school!

Josh Angulo (CV-1) – ‘They’re VERY difficult’

Daida Moreno (E-64, Mistral/ North Sails) – ‘They’re old skool’

Ross Williams (GBR-83 Tabou / Gaastra) – ‘Only a few people do the really well so way cool!’

Dan Ellis (GBR-52 Fanatic / Naish) – ‘Vidar’s stalled, one-handed double in Pozo!!! That ain’t old skool dude!’

Anne-Marie Reichman (H-98, Naish/ Naish) – ‘Still cool - and difficult as well’

Matt Pritchard (US-10 Tabou / Gaastra) – ‘Stylish!’

Robby Swift (K-89, JP/ Neil Pryde) – ‘Pretty easy and pretty old school. Cool if you do a backloop like that though!’

Ricardo Campello (V-111, JP/ Neil Pryde) – ‘Very cool depending on how you do it’

Klaas Voget (G4, Fanatic / Neil Pryde) – ‘One-footed looks…gay’

Xavier Huart – ‘I don’t care!’

Nik Baker – ‘Mac. Obviously!’
