Ben Van Der Steen. ‘Gimme 5!’

27 yr-old Ben van Der Steen (NED-57 Exocet /Naish) is a high achiever for someone who likes to take it so easy. In fact Ben’s laid-back approach makes him one of the most popular guys on tour. However, his carefree approach to life is not reflected in the dedication he gives R&D. Passionate about his gear, this 92-kilo Dutchman works tirelessly with his sponsors Naish and Exocet to push boundaries, and refine the tools of his trade. 2006 saw Ben finish 12th Slalom 42, and his 21st place overall in the waves proves how hard it is at this level, especially when you consider he won the PWA Red Bull Stormrider event in Israel in 2006. Back to the fun. Ben – give us 5!
