PWA / IWT Cold Hawaii Youth Wave and Slalom World Cup

Day 9. Another close call as attention shifts to ‘Big Wednesday’

Once again it was another story of almost but not quite as the wind gods continued to tease the budding racers. There was plenty of wind for free sailing, but unfortunately, it just wasn’t consistent enough to allow for competitive racing.

On the bright side, the forecast still promises big Wednesday, which should hopefully provide a fitting finale to the 2024 PWA / IWT Cold Hawaii Youth Wave and Slalom World Cup. Tomorrow should hopefully see terrific racing conditions for both fin and foil with fresh to strong winds predicted from the southwest. To prioritise the racing, the sailors will meet at 08:30am (GMT+2) on Wednesday morning and with a bit of luck we will see a full day of racing followed by the prize giving in the afternoon. Heading into the final day, Sacha Fortune (Future Fly / Challenger Sails) and Gustav Permin will be looking to defend their event leads in the U21 and U17 Foil fleets.

A huge thanks to the volunteers and, of course, to our sponsors, without whom this wouldn’t be possible: Cafe Hawgus, Emilienborg, Cold Hawaii Games, AutoQ, DIF, DGI, Good Food To Go, and Thisted Bryghus.
