Jericoacoara

Considering Jericoacoara, Brazil, as your next windsurfing destination? Dudu Levi in on hand with a spot guide

Jericoacoara is one of the most reliable windy spots on the planet between July until November / December - making it a great getaway spot for european's before the Christmas period. Dudu Levi has been spending more time out there again and has put together a quick spot guide to tell you more about this famous location.

Dudu Levi (Future Fly / GUNSAILS): "Jericoacoara
What an iconic place for windsurfing!
There are not many windsurfers who don't know this place.
Here is a spot guide for those who want to visit this wind paradise.
How To get to Jeri:
There is a small airport really close at Jijoca de Jericoacoara And you can get flights from Sao Paulo, I have no experience with it but I have seen people who came with equipment to this airport, and from there it is a 20-30 minute drive on a sandy road, you need to arrange a 4×4 shuttle.
The second option is via Fortaleza, there are flights from Paris, Amsterdam, Lisbon and more, to this airport and from there it is about a five hours drive by shuttle or bus, and the last half hour is on a sandy road, I order a transfer through the place where I usually stay in.

At the entrance to Jeri you will have to pay a tourist tax for each day you are there, don't worry, it's not that high, in some of the pousadas will already be included.

I have experience with wind conditions from the end of July to the end of December and of course there is nothing to say, there is wind!
August is more flat water and towards November and December there are more waves.

At the peak of the season, the spot is full of windsurfers so keep it in mind, I think it's better to visit before or after for a better experience, of course there are lots of very close spots with similar conditions.

There is no kitesurfing at the main spot in Jeri, but you can order a buggy every day to take you to lagoons or nearby spots.
