Comeback Complete
After finishing fifth in the opening wave event of 2024 in Japan, Marc Paré (Simmer / Simmer Sails) then suffered a potentially season ending injury in Maui, Hawaii in March after suffering a Lisfranc injury. However, the Spaniard was determined not to miss the rest of the season and while the Gran Canaria PWA World Cup may have come a little too soon, the 26-year-old then made an emphatic return in Tenerife by winning the 4-star event before then also going on to win the Citröen Sylt Windsurf World Cup to haul himself back into world title race contention. A joint ninth place finish in Maui wasn't enough to earn him a maiden world title, but given the challenges he faced last season, fourth still represents a stellar result and he'll be a genuine world title contender in 2025.
