Reigning Foil Slalom world champion, Pierre Mortefon, to compete on FMX for remainder of the season as Frenchman searches for fourth world title in two years

Pierre Mortefon (FMX Racing) has formed a great relationship with FMX Racing competing fin slalom over the last couple of seasons, winning a couple of world titles in the process. Now for the remainder of the 2025 season, Mortefon will also compete on FMX in Foil Slalom in Germany and Japan.

Finian Maynard: “After such a successful Canaries resulting in the Slalom X world title it was a logical move to support and continue this journey together by expanding our collaboration into Foil Slalom. Normally FMX was not sponsoring/participating in PWA FSL this season, but after a summer of developments and strategic reassessment the brand has changed it’s approach and is now back in the game for the rest of the year. Pierre [Mortefon] will use the Hyperion 158 in Sylt and Japan, this board has a proven design, winning capability and performance pedigree, to put him in position to be fighting for the top places and the Foil Slalom world title. Best of luck, allez!”

Pierre Mortefon: “I am happy to continue the story with FMX for the end of the season. Since we started together it’s been a true success, two world titles in a row, but also some great moments which is super important for me too.

I just received the board and I am getting used to it, but I am not afraid as in general the quality of the boards is just next level. Happy & motivated to keep my title in foil now - let’s go.”

You'll next be able to see Pierre Mortefon in action at the Citroën Windsurf World Cup Sylt, which runs from 26th September until 5th October.
