LAMPIE’S BLUES

Dutch wave sailor Lampie lights up the waves of El Medano

Martin ten Hoeve (Goya Windsurfing / Point-7) is the tallest windsurfer on the PWA World Tour, standing at 6 foot 7 inches. The Dutchman had several nail biting calls during the 2012 season, but unfortunately this time around he found himself on the wrong end of the decision, which meant that he finished the year in twenty-seventh place. Tenerife proved to be his best result as he claimed thirteenth place overall. With a little bit of extra luck the Dutchman could’ve gone even further.

Like many of his fellow Point-7 teammates Lampie spent much of his winter in El Medano, Tenerife. The latest offering from BJ Productions features ten Hoeve and the thirty-two year old puts together a terrific performance consisting of tweaked airs off the lip, radical frontside wave 360s and perfectly executed backside wave 360s. In the jumping department ten Hoeve rotates his way through monster backloops, stalled forwards and superb pushloops.

If Lampie is able to have a decision or two go in his favour this year then he’s certainly one to watch as he could very easily break into the top sixteen of the world.
