We have action at last here in Spain, with the first six heats of the PWA Costa Brava freestyle qualifier taking place late this afternoon. The wind took us all by surprise

We are still on hold here at the 2002 Catalunya PWA Freestyle Qualifier. A promising thermal breeze filled in this afternoon but unfortunately never reached the strength required to allow any official competition.

There was no competition on the opening day here in Costa Brava at the 2002 Catalunya, PWA freestyle qualifier. Despite the predicted thermal breeze picking up during the afternoon the wind never reached the required levels to allow any official action.

A highly prestigious fleet have gathered here in Costa Brava, Spain to compete in the fourth PWA freestyle qualifier of the season.

The final day of the 2002 Verizon King of the Cape Freestyle Pro-Am saw winds, blowing from the SW in the 15-20mph range with higher gusts.

The day started cool but sunny with light winds from the NE. Not the direction we had hoped for but the event commenced.

For the third year in a row, Fanatic gladly found an agreement with Red Bull to co-sponsor the upcoming King of the Lake Freestyle event, taking place from July 4th - 7th at Lake Garda/Italy!

Q: Tell us about your latest video project?

LP: Well, together with the production company Pro Cam in Copenhagen we have launched a video and DVD Wave/freestyle instruction and action film.

The first round of votes are in for the Inaugural PWA Windsurfing Hall of

Fame. There were 64 nominations in total. The PWA would like to thank the

selection committee for their very informed choices.

We have taken the top 7 nominees and sent them…

The Bay of Roses in the north of the Costa Brava is one of the best areas in Spain for windsurfing.

Following the rebirth of the PWA during 2001, the Professional Windsurfers Association will once more be complete as the single, no compromise, governing body for Professional Windsurfing Worldwide.

Q: What did you get up to last winter?

SM: Last winter (Summer for me being an antipodean) was spent cruising around the west Australian coastline.

Q: Words to live by? SC: A little worm is still smaller than the big green orange

Q: Many are rating you as one of the main contenders for the overall wave title this year...what do you say to that?

PV: I feel confident that I can do well
