Bernd Roediger
PWA Sailor Representative
Windsurfing has been my life from an early age. Growing up at Ho‘okipa, I was fortunate to learn from the best and build a career that has taken me around the world. I’ve won multiple Aloha Classics, as well as major events in Japan, Cape Verde, and other world-class locations. My connection to the sport goes beyond competition - I’m involved in teaching programs for windsurfing and help manage a windsurf shop, which has given me a holistic understanding of our sport, not just from the top—from professional competition to grassroots participation.
Francisco Goya
PWA Industry Representative
Francisco Goya, former Wave World Champion, originally from Argentina and a Maui resident since 1989, brings a lifetime of dedication to windsurfing. Now serving his third term on the PWA Board of Directors, he remains focused on building the sport—one event, one region, one rider at a time.
At the heart of our mission is a simple commitment: to advance and celebrate the world’s most exciting and soulful watersport.
Today’s PWA athletes represent more than just competition—they are the embodiment of windsurfing’s spirit. Many are second or third-generation riders, raised in the culture, shaped by wind, water, and the international community. Our association is powered by a passionate and selfless group of board members—leaders and champions—working transparently and with shared purpose to unite and grow the sport.
We are proud to be a nonprofit rooted in service. As our membership expands and events grow exponentially across all regions, we continue collaborating with other tours and organizers to strengthen the global stage for windsurfing. From youth to amateur to pro, the level of talent and passion we see today gives us hope—and excitement—for the future of windsurfing worldwide.
