2001 spark7.com Windsurfing World Cup Neusiedler See Day 4

A nice and sunny day on the event site of the spark7.com windsurfing freestyle event in Podersdorf. Thousands of spectators used the warm and sunny weather for a visit. And of course they wanted to see the top windsurfing guys on the water and on the beach.

Again the wind conditions were not favourable for the event, which freed the riders for promotion on Podersdorf beach. Lots of equipment presentations were organized and the crowd were able to discuss equipment innovations with the stars. Especially the JP team, a co sponsor of the event, who too the opportunity to introduce some of their new boards. Naish Sails, AHD and Neil Pryde also had plenty of gear for the public to peruse n the beautiful Podersdorf weather.

During the riders presentation Josh Stone (Neil Pryde/ JP) got hold of the microphone and took the presentation into his own hands, which made the crowd cheer. Teamriders from 16 countries paraded before the assembled masses and earned the attention of the whole crowd.

Nik Baker:
"It would be nice if the weather would stay as warm and the girls don’t have to put on more clothes. Later on it can get windy."

This evening everybody s getting fired up for the big party and the spectators will be right there. The catering tent which is right on the beach, turned into a full on party tent and the dancing had already begun. Beautiful girls and a pure windsurfing atmosphere. The party is on and the expectation of a windier Sunday is keeping everyone on their toes.
