Tenerife Winter 20/21

Winter Freestyle Antics in Tenerife with the 2015 PWA World Champion - Dieter van der Eyken

This winter threw up a lot of freestyle days in Tenerife, so Dieter van der Eyken (Severne / Severne Sails) found new levels of motivation to add some extra style to his repertoire of moves. The former world champion has been hit by a string of injuries, but still managed to produce this explosive edit @ youtu.be/QkeD0exkcHI

Dieter van der Eyken: “The winter of 2020 – 2021 provided a lot of days with wind in Tenerife, but not too many with waves. With more guys around on the Freestyle gear the motivation kicked back in to polish up the Freestyle skills & spend more time on the water also when waves were less.

Just when I started to improve again in February a should injury held me off the water for 6 weeks leaving me only 2 weeks to prepare for the first European event in Austria.

Together with Max Robinson from Canada the motivation to do Freestyle was on an all time high & most of the footage comes from the week leading up to the event, the first one in 1.5 years!

Level was feeling good coming into the Austrian event but sadly enough the event was over before it even started due to a crash in the warm-up for the Tow-in Final.

After another 4 weeks off the water it feels good to be back on the water & looking forward to create more clips over summer! If you’ve got any idea's of what you would like to see please let me know in the comments!”
