Torbole PWA World Cup

Reigning World Champion Marion Mortefon looks ahead to the start of the 2023 season, which begins in just a few days time in beautiful Lake Garda

The start of the 2023 PWA Slalom World Tour is now just a few days away, so just before things get underway we quickly caught up with reigning world champion - Marion Mortefon (Fanatic / Duotone / LOKEFOIL) - to see how she’s feeling ahead of the Torbole PWA World Cup, which runs between 10th-14th May.

Hey Marion, how are you? And how has your winter been?

I’m good! My winter was intense, after a break in New Caledonia in December I went straight into training in Lanzarote. I did lot of IQ Foil, training and competition, mixed with some coaching.

The start of the new season is now under a week away - how are you feeling ahead of the first event of the year?

I feel good, did a lot of foiling this winter, can’t wait to start!

Lake Garda is back on the map for the first time in a long time… have you spent much time in Garda before? How are the conditions and how do you feel about the event?

I came here 4 times in the last 3 years, for some competition and training, I’m always impressed by the beauty of the lake, and the consistency of the wind. It’s a really great spot for windsurfing. I’m feeling ready to begin with the last adjustments with my equipment.

Are you already in Italy or when will you be arriving for the event?

I’m in Torbole since the 4th.

Anything else you’d like to add?

Can’t wait to begin!

Thanks, Marion and good luck for the event.
