PWA/IWT Cold Hawaii Youth Windsurf World Cup 2023

Day 3: A chilly start at the crack of dawn doesn’t quite pay off with the wind dropping quicker than forecast

Day 3 of the 2023 PWA/IWT Cold Hawaii Youth Windsurf World Cup saw the Boy’s U15s on the water for the first time this week as Peter Gobisch (Duotone / Duotone Sails), Bjorn Olesen (Severne / Severne Sails), Javier Escribano Toribio (Goya Windsurfing) and Emil Skov Nielsen (Simmer) all prepared for battle! Unfortunately, however, the wind dropped quicker than it had been forecast to, so the third day proved to be one requiring plenty of patience with the contest remaining on hold for much of the day.

On the bright side, the weather was at least pleasant enough to compensate for the lack of wind with sunny skies, while the break was welcomed by some after a hectic couple of opening days. Attention now turns to Day 4, which looks more promising on paper with more wind on the horizon, so it is looking like another early start, potentially.
